It’s a 5K race that is part of the Wayne County Challenge series http://wcchallenge.org/frostbite-5k . Our race begins near twilight on December 3rd in Glen Miller Park, setting the scene for a beautiful evening run through the park as thousands of luminaries light the way. It is the only evening run/walk in the Wayne County Challenge, making our race unique. All proceeds from this 5K go to benefit free summer park programs. In addition to helping financially support our summer programs, the Rosemary Weigel Frostbite 5K is special to the Richmond Parks and Recreation staff in another way. Our race is named after Rosemary, a long-time park employee, who passed away February 2012 after battling cancer. We can think of no better way to keep her spirit alive than to name our 5K after her. She was always a fixture at the races and very involved in our programs. If you have any questions please contact Keith Clemens at kclemens@richmondindiana.gov or 765-983-7420.
