The “It’s Fall Y’all” Richmond Rose Pedals ride will explore the the beauty of The Cardinal Greenway up to Springwood Lake Park. Ride is 10 miles long and a slower paced one.Starting from Elstro Plaza we’ll roll on the City Bike Loop by the Starr-Gennett Pavilion where the Richmond Farmer’s Market relocates Nov-Apr. We’ll stop for bit so ride group can see the vibrant indoor and heated marketplace.Next, we’ll take the Gorge Trail under two huge bridge structures to connect to the Cardinal Greenway. We’ll pass by the Wayne County Veterans Memorial Park.Near Springwood Lake we’ll take the switchback exit to weave our way see the new woodland chapel, the lake, the waterfall, and have a hill climb to warm us up on Waterfall Road to the historic Quaker Conference Center. At Quaker Hill we’ll catch glimpse of an antebellum residence built in 1855 as a wedding present. It stands among newer additions in a beautiful setting.We’ll glide downhill and return to the Cardinal Greenway onto North D Street to North 7th. We’ll find part of the City Bike Loop and take it back to Elstro Plaza with the Depot District in our rear view.Ride will use several bike trails, park roads and public streets. A geared bike will be needed for few inclines found on the Gorge Trail and Waterfall Road. Please wear light weight layers and have thin gloves and helmet liner if cool weather persists
