To celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Earlham College, Indiana University East, and the Richmond NAACP will host renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Benjamin Crump. Crump has worked on some of the most high-profile cases in the US, representing the families of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Stephon Clark, among others. He will sit down with Womai Song, an assistant professor of African and African-American studies and assistant professor of history at Earlham, to reflect on King’s legacy in the context of the challenges we continue to face today.Through a steadfast dedication to justice and service, renowned civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump has established himself as one of the nation’s foremost lawyers and advocates for social justice, earning the nickname “Black America’s Attorney General.” His legal acumen has ensured that those marginalized in American society are protected by their nation’s contract with its constituency.This is a virtual event via zoom.This event is free and open to the public.
