Children can get up close and personal with nature at Hayes Arboretum's Nature Playscape! Unlike traditional playgrounds, the nature playscape uses natural materials to provide a creative and interactive play experience.
This 46 acre site is a reforested wetland. Located within the city limits of Hagerstown, the disturbed area was saved from the bulldozer through the passionate efforts of nearby resident, Steve Swoveland. Thousands of trees have been planted in the river valley area to help it return to its natural state. 1 mile mowed hiking path.

Founded in the 1890s, Abbott's Candy Shop is nationally known for tasty homemade caramels and chocolates. You can call to schedule a free tour so visitors can watch how the chocolates and caramels are created. Tours are not available from November-January due to the holiday season
